E-Disk® Manager

The E-Disk® Manager is an advanced Flash Disk Analysis Development System used by hardware, manufacturing, firmware application and field engineers to diagnose, configure and update the firmware version of the company's E-Disk SSD and E-Disk Altima solid state disk products. Even customers will be able to benefit from using the E-Disk® Manager as they are able to modify E-Disk® user- programmable features, monitor its performance and statistics and upgrade E-Disk® Altima's firmware to the latest version. This storage management software allows users to manage multiple E-Disk® product models, whether they be ATA / IDE, SCSI, Fibre Channel or U320 interfaces.

The E-Disk® Manager is also key to diagnosing even the most complex problems in design laboratories and in the field and has therefore given BiTMICRO® competitive advantage in the area of customer support and satisfaction. E-Disk Manager offers the following functionalities:

SCSI Narrow Flash Disks
    • Download Microcode - allows the user to upgrade to the latest microcode version
    • Sanitize - BiTMICRO-specific command that offers higher security by adding fill operations to the data erase operation
    • Read defect (in tabular and graph form) - BiTMICRO specific command is used to get bad block information from the E-Disk flash disk. It returns the defect count, the bad block addresses and the write counts prior to block failure.
    • Write Statistics (in tabular and graph form) - BiTMICRO-specific command is used to generate performance statistics on the number of writes for the E-Disk SSD. Statistics include the incremental write count and total write count.
    • Disk geometry - Returns to the host memory-related physical characteristics of the E-Disk SSD. Examples of returned parameters are Board count, Flash device count, Flash physical size and Flash Physical page size.
    • Disk Inquiry - This command shows the basic and vital information of the device such as Product Number, Serial Number, Firmware version and other useful information.
