PARIS, France - April 1, 2004 - RISE Storage Networks, a French company established in 1997 specializing in network design and Storage Area Networks (SAN) and BiTMICRO® Networks, a pioneer in intelligent ATA / IDE, SCSI, USB, VME, Compact PCI, Firewire, Ethernet, and Fibre Channel flash solid-state storage solutions have agreed to cooperate and integrate the intelligent E-Disk® platform of flash memory solid-state storage solutions into RISE's enterprise storage offerings. The agreement was announced today during the Semaine Européene des Technologies de l'Information (SETI) 2004 being held from March 30 - April 1, 2004 in Paris, France.

BiTMICRO's family of networked solid-state disks (SSDs) are designed to meet the ever growing demand for speed and low latency required by commercial database and other transaction intensive applications. The E-Disk®SAN comes in low-cost versions for single to four-drive configurations, 2U modular rack mounted enclosures and all the way to 48U cabinets of pure SSD. Performance will range from 9,500 random IOPS and 68 MB/s for a single fibre channel disk; and up to 16.5 TB, 16GB/s sustained transfer rates and 2.5 million random IOPS for the most I/O intensive computing requirements of any enterprise application today.

The E-Disk®SAN flash disk and the complementary E-Disk®SafeCapacity-Hotfile software constitute an open SAN solution for accelerating overall performance of SAN-based systems and applications, with full support for most major operating systems (Windows NT and Windows 2000, NetWare, HP-UX, Suse/RedHat Linux, SUN Solaris, IBM AIX) and fibre channel switches and directors.

E-Disk® StorView management software's simplicity of management (both local and remote), its flexibility and data security are all important considerations for the most demanding enterprise users from the banking, healthcare, telecommunications and entertainment industries.
